Dan & Lisa’s wedding was straight out of Pinterest. Their intimate wedding ceremony was the perfect fit for them. The genuine, down-to-earth couple was a joy to work with as we ventured throughout Whitnall Park. This wedding was a perfect example of why I love my job so much. Dan & Lisa had so many cool and creative ideas.. like how romantic is Dan playing his guitar to Lisa!? To top it off, we ended with a beautiful sunset and some Spotted Cow. #onlyinwisconsin
Eric & Katie’s wedding day at Holiday Acres Resort in Rhinelander, WI was so joyful. It was the perfect sunny day for their wedding. When I first met Katie & Eric for their engagements photos, I instantly learned how sweet of a couple they are. Their personalities are a perfect match. Throughout this entire process they have not stopped smiling. I am so excited to share a glance of their wedding with you!

Adam & Arielle’s wedding was held at St. Andrews in Verona and their reception at the Sheraton Hotel, Madison. Although the weather wasn’t the best, Adam and Arielle were an adventurous couple. The resulting photos were well worth a few rain drops, not to mention they are super photogenic. Here are some of my favorites. Thank you both! I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do!

Hannah & Ryan’s wedding took place at the Butte Des Mortes Club in Appleton. It was one of the hottest days of the year but that didn’t stop Hannah & Ryan from having their perfect day. Simply being around these two people you feel the warmth and love they have for each other and their family. It was incredible with so many happy tears, joy and lots of laughter. Here is just a glimpse of a few of my favorite moments from their wedding.
Ross & Courtney were married in Green Bay and their reception was held at Badger State Brewing Company. If you’ve never been to Badger State Brewery for a wedding, it is worth checking out. This was my first time there, and the venue all around was nothing short of amazing, especially if you love beer!
These two make a perfect couple; Ross, the comedian, and Courtney, the sweetheart who can’t stop laughing at all of his jokes. When together, all they do is smile and you can’t help but smile yourself when you see their happiness. It was truly a great day. Thank you for letting me be apart of your celebration.
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day!
What a beautiful wedding! Brooke & Chase ceremony was surrounded by loving family and wonderful friends as they released butterflies, exchanged rings and combined sand to symbolize their love for each other as they joined two lives into one marriage. The sun was beaming the whole day and they were such a joy to photograph. The reception continued at The Stadium View in Green Bay with lots of laughter and dancing. Congratulations again you two!
My favorite thing about shooting weddings is getting to experience all the different ways couples choose to celebrate their day, and to be a witness to how each couple chooses to honor their love for each other. Brandon & Kaylie’s wedding was sunny and beautiful. They were wed by both of their pastors at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Slinger, WI. It was a special treat to have both of them there.
After the beautiful ceremony, the guests joined them outside to see their departure as they burned some rubber and drove off in Brandon’s restored 1970 Dodge Charger. The wedding party followed in their pick-up trucks and lined up at the stunning venue, Florian Park in Germantown for a once in a lifetime picture. The night continued with lots of dancing, personal heartfelt speeches and a surprise from Brandon with a groomsman dance (super impressive)!
Brandon & Kaylie’s day was as wonderful and full of love as a wedding photographer could ever ask for. It’s apparent that friends and family mean everything to them, and that their love for each other shines so bright. It was my privilege to have been able to play such an important role in their big day– thank you for choosing me to capture the day. I wish you both a lifetime of love, health and happiness as you embark on your new journey together.

Melissa & Brock tied the knot at the gorgeous Mt. Mary University in Milwaukee, where Melissa attended. The guests overlooked the couple in front of the beautiful panoramic windows. The reception was held at an exquisitely rustic venue in Richfield, WI called Terrace 167. This venue fit Melissa & Brock to the tee. From start to finish it was layered in classic elegance and straight out of Pinterest.
The meaningful details and personalization is what made Melissa and Brock’s wedding extra special. One special element to this wedding was how Melissa incorporated memories and sentimental items of her mom who had passed away a couple years ago. Melissa asked me to design her wedding programs and wanted to incorporate the word “Love” using her mom’s hand writing and when she told me this, I could hardly contain myself. This was the sweetest and coolest idea ever! Not only did she have the programs with her mom’s handwriting on it, they also created a wooden board with the word “Love” which was placed in front of them during the ceremony. Another cool idea was Melissa using a picture of them wrapped around the stem of her bouquet. All of the bouquets & boutonnieres were also wrapped in her mom’s denim.
Additional unique and special decor used at both the ceremony and reception were tree logs (cut into centerpieces) which came from Melissa’s grandparents farm. Brock’s father made pillars from cedar telephone poles, and the cake topper was Melissa’s great grandfather’s used at his August of 1939 wedding.
In other words, their wedding day was filled with much thought and perfection. Melissa & Brock truly showed every part of their love at their wedding (and got down on the dance floor). I am so happy I was a part of it and am ecstatic to share some of the incredible images from the day.
P.S. Have an AMAZING time on your honeymoon in Greece.

They spent eight, then set a date! After eight years of dating, the lovely Jenny & Kyle decided they’re ready to tie the knot. Their engagement photos were shot in The Gardens of Memorial Park in Appleton on a warm and sunny day. Their pup, Jester, also came along to join in the fun. This nice weather is only a hint of how their big day will be as they plan to have their wedding ceremony down by the beaches in Punta Cana. Again, congratulations Jenny & Kyle! Reception photos to come.
The charming, adventurous couple, Laura & Dave, celebrated their love over a perfect weekend ceremony that took place at their cottage in Waupaca, Wisconsin. Stunning views of Round Lake created the beautiful backdrop seen in their photos. They started their ceremony by paddling down the “aisle” on paddle boards and entered on the dock. Emotional and intimate, they exchanged personal vows and unique blue diamond custom-made rings. Afterwards, the sound of laughter filled the air as the guests enjoyed pontoon rides, field games, and a festive reception. To top it all off, the night ended with a fabulous display of fireworks.
My first 2017 blog post! 2016 was an unbelievable year. I worked with many incredible brides, outstanding venues, and met amazing families. Here are some photos from Matt & Sarah’s wedding that topped off 2016! The venue was in Milwaukee at the Marcus Center and was so elegant!

I have never met a more giddy, smiley, lovable couple. Leo & Mary were such a joy to photograph. And boy did they know how to throw a great PARTY! I hope these photos make you smile just as much as I am. Congrats to you two love birds!
Melissa & Brock are a poster couple. Their romantic country-side engagement session could be on the pages of a magazine. I couldn’t be more excited to share this adorable, dog loving, glowing couple. A beautiful background is usually something couples & photographers look for when planning an engagement session and they hit it right on the head. The way the sunset shines on the two of them may be one of the most beautiful sights you could ever see.
I recently photographed Brandon & Kaylie in Oshkosh, WI. This lovely couple is getting married next August and I am so excited to be apart of their day! I know it’s going to be a gorgeous wedding. Future wedding details aside, let’s get to the present: Brandon & Kaylie’s engagement session! These two are naturals. Their good looks, fabulous outfit choices, a sublime location and their genuine love for each other made this photo shoot a truly enjoyable experience.
Here’s to many, many happy years together!
The photos I’m sharing with you turned out so beautifully for Jeff & Elise’s maternity session. As I was editing all the preview pictures for this blog post, I kept getting more and more excited with how they turned out.
We met up at this really pretty stone arch bridge in Tiffany, WI and Elise was just glowing. I knew we were in for a wonderful evening. Overall, we had a really fun time together and I know Jeff & Elise are going to make the best parents to their little angel.
Oh, and if you’re wondering if it’s a boy or girl, you’ll have to wait to find out what the sex is!
Until then, check out these gorgeous photos!
So happy to share Lindsey & Dave’s wedding photos. There were non-stop smiles all day. They had a nice ceremony at Humphrey Memorial Chapel at Carroll University where they met. We then went around taking photos at Carroll University, Waukesha, and to the Art Museum in Milwaukee and ended the celebration at The Garden in downtown Milwaukee. Knowing both Lindsey & Dave throughout college made the day extra special and such a joy to photograph. Congratulations you two!
How many people can say they met their soulmate at the age 5? Becca and Derek found a picture playing basketball against each other when they were younger…what a love story! They “officially” met their junior year of high school. And then started dating senior year…and the rest is history.
Take a look at some of my favorite photos. Another stunning wedding! Thank you Becca & Derek for making the day seriously a blast.
Ben & Sarah’s destination wedding took place at an all-inclusive 36-acre private mountain estate adjoining the Nantahala National Forest called Hawkesdene in Andrews, North Carolina. The location was extraordinary making it the perfect getaway with family and friends. The venue included a llama and alpaca barn, a covered bridge, fire pit, arbor, vineyard and gardens. One of my favorite spots, the Hawkesnest Pavilion at the top of the mountain, captured the unobstructed views of the Smoky Mountains.
Sarah wore the prettiest BHLDN lace dress. Her ring is elegant and meaningful (the diamonds are from Ben’s grandmother’s ring). We ended the night with a to-die-for, Simma’s Bakery cheesecake, a live band (Ravioli Boys) and fireworks.
The thing about Ben & Sarah’s day is that it was the perfect fit for them. From their handwritten personal vows, to the laid back approach of the dinner (great food, sit where you’d like, and enjoy it all). It was a day that spoke into the lives of Ben and Sarah’s closest friends and families (don’t miss their dogs wearing the cutest bow ties/flowers). It was a perfect day with so much unspeakable joy to their forever together. I can’t wait for you to see some details captured last weekend. Their wedding will be talked about for years to come.
I had the most amazing day with Ariel and Tyler. Words do not explain how beautiful the wedding was. There was so much love in the air and the bride and groom spent so much time carefully planning all the details. You could tell they were really having the time of their lives surrounded by family and friends who love them. The wedding was at a private venue out in the country in Neosho, WI. The mixture of purple dresses and green trees were on spot on! Okay..let’s get to the pictures!

… New Orleans …
I recently visited New Orleans and it was amazing! Make sure you write down this city on your to-do-list. NOLA is full of culture, jazz & soul music, food and history. Some of the sites I visited included the French Quarter, Audubon Park, a boat ride down the Mississippi River on the Natchez Steamboat, the Katrina Museum and an air boat ride in the swamps to see alligators.
I would say the French Quarter is one of the main attractions. I spent most of my time in that area. Every street in the quarter has either a bar, art gallery or a t-shirt shop. The architecture is simply beautiful. Here are some photos from my trip. Enjoy!
P.S. If you ever visit…don’t forget to try the beignets at Cafe Du Monde!
… Tips on what to wear for engagement photos …
What to wear for engagement photos is one of the most common questions I receive from my engaged couples. So why not write an article with great tips?!
The most important tip to remember when choosing an outfit for your engagement session is to be yourself! The main purpose for the shoot is to capture who you are and to show your personalities. If you choose an outfit that isn’t you, you will feel uncomfortable and it will show in the photos.
Here are some additional tips!
Choose colors that compliment your skin tone
If you have light skin, white may wash out your complexion in photographs.
Coordinate your clothing with each other
Don’t overdo it with the patterns. Solid dark colors are the most flattering.
Choose clothes to compliment your location
Think about where you will be shooting. If we are taking photos in a field or park, consider more natural colors. If we are taking photos in the city, you might consider more ”dressed up” or bold choices.
What not to wear
Don’t forget that your shoes will be in the photos. Reminder to match your shoes with your outfit.
Large shirts that are not tucked in
Any baggy shirts will make you look bigger than you are and look messy.
Avoid fluorescent colors. These colors tend to color cast on faces, necks and hair. When the colors are so bright, it tends to change colors on the person standing next to them.
Drastic changes with your hair and makeup
You want your engagement photos to reflect who you are and you want to be comfortable in your own skin. Be cautious on wearing too much makeup.
… A picture’s worth a thousand words …
When you’re thumbing through old photos or pictures from a recent photo shoot, what are the shots you’re most drawn to?
When it’s me looking through those photos, I like to see the essence of whoever is in front of the camera. For example, I want to see my family enjoying each other and having a good time. I want to see real smiles and emotions. I want to be able to look at my photographs and be able to relive the moment and feel the emotions as if I was actually in that moment again.
I truly believe that photographs are so important. And the best kind tell a story. Remember the phrase, “A picture’s worth a thousand words?” My goal for every photo is to have it be worth a thousand and one.
